You can have the life you want. You can feel better. You can see yourself differently.

Hi, I’m Melissa.

I’m so glad you’re here.

In the over two decades that I’ve worked with clients around their relationships with food and their bodies, I have learned that healing is possible.

As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, clinical supervisor, and behavioral healthcare leader, I have supported individuals and families through the complexities of navigating eating disorders, depression and anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is grounded in building authentic relationships in therapy, guided by evidenced-based treatment interventions. This means I focus on the healing power of relationships—both the ones we have with others and the one we’re building together in the therapy room.

My experiences in the eating disorders field have centered on nearly 25 years working in higher levels of care, including inpatient, residential, partial, and intensive outpatient settings. These experiences have deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-informed care that honors the whole person—mind, body, and story.

My Approach

I specialize in supporting individuals through complex eating disorders, trauma recovery, adolescent and young adult development, and women’s mental health at every stage of life.

Whether you are navigating food and body challenges, processing unresolved trauma, or simply feeling stuck in your relationships or self-worth, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where we can work through what’s getting in the way of the life you want.

In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami’s School of Education and Psychological Studies, where I help train the next generation of therapists. I hold a doctoral degree from Drexel University, an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University, an MSEd from the University of Miami, and a BA from the University of Florida.

I believe in the possibility of healing and growth. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your path toward a more connected, empowered, and meaningful life.

I’m an active member of professional organizations, serve on several national committees, and remain engaged in volunteer work within my local community. My first book, exploring authenticity and relational healing in eating disorder therapy, will be published in August 2026.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by your relationship with food, your body, yourself, or others—or facing anxiety, eating disorders, or the lasting impact of trauma—you're not alone. You don’t have to navigate this on your own.

I help individuals and families untangle the complex relationship between food, body image, and emotional pain, offering support through anxiety, perfectionism, and the weight of past experiences with compassion and care.

I approach therapy based on each person; treatment is tailored to meet you where you are in a safe, nonjudgmental space where your story is respected and honored.

Together, we’ll build resilience, strengthen your connection to yourself, and work toward feeling more at ease in your body and more confident in your choices.

Because recovery is more than symptom relief—it's about creating a life that feels nourishing, meaningful, and truly your own.
